A Delta Air Lines co-pilot was arrested on July 26, 2025, shortly after landing Flight 2809 from Minneapolis at San Francisco International Airport. Federal agents, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, boarded the aircraft and detained the co-pilot in connection with charges related to child sexual abuse materials.
Eyewitnesses reported that approximately ten armed agents entered the cockpit and escorted the co-pilot off the plane in handcuffs. Passengers were instructed to remain seated during the operation, which occurred as the flight was preparing to deplane.
Delta Air Lines has not publicly commented on the arrest, referring all inquiries to law enforcement agencies.
