The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History has confirmed the recent removal of a placard noting former President Donald Trump’s two impeachments, citing aesthetic and display concerns. According to a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the signage was taken down because it “was not consistent with other sections in the exhibit” and obstructed the view of artifacts in the case. The museum added that a new, updated version of the placard — reflecting all impeachment proceedings in U.S. history — is in the works and will be reinstalled in the coming weeks.
