Winter is coming — and it's arriving ahead of schedule. According to the 2025 edition of the Farmers' Almanac, much of the U.S. should prepare for an “old-fashioned” winter, with colder temperatures arriving earlier and sticking around longer than usual. From heavy snowfalls to extended cold snaps, the forecast suggests a season that could rival some of the harshest winters in recent memory. If you're hoping for a mild winter, the Almanac says: don't count on it.
